Dundee United Hope To Sign Young Goalkeeper

Dundee United Hope To Sign Young Goalkeeper

Former Livingston and Gretna goalkeeper Greg Fleming could be Craig Levein`s first summer signing, as Dundee United begin preparations for next season.

The Scotland Under-21 keeper was one of the many players caught up in Gretna`s financial breakdown, which has resulted in the club going into administration and being relegated at the end of the season.

Fleming has already been given a short trial at Tannadice, but Levein wants to take another look at the Scottish born keeper, before he considers offering him a contract with the club.

"Greg came up to Tannadice for a day last week," Levein told the Dundee Courier.

"We are aiming to get him back in next week to take a better look at him."

Meanwhile, English League One side Crewe Alexandra are also interested in taking Greg Fleming to the Alexandra Stadium.

"Crewe have shown an interest in Greg and Dundee United also want a closer look at him, so he may well go up there for a couple of days," admitted Mick Wadsworth, Gretna's director of football.

Falkirk 1 Dundee United 2

Dundee United are into the Scottish Premiership play-off final after Paul Dixon scored a late winner at Falkirk.

The hosts had moved in front following a 2-2 draw in the first game when James Craigen opened their account on eleven minutes.

But Simon Murray equalised with fourteen minutes remaining, and with extra-time appearing increasingly probable, left-back Dixon headed a dramatic second.

The Tangerines now play either Inverness Caledonian Thistle or Hamilton Academical
