Flood Could Still Return To Scotland...

There is still a chance that Cardiff City midfielder Willo Flood could become a Dundee United player before the start of the new season.

After a successful loan spell at Tannadice last year, the 23-year-old was keen to remaining with Dundee United on a more permanent basis, admitting he would be 'gutted" to leave.

Flood made 44 appearances for United last season and his only goal against St Mirren, in a 3-0 win on the 15th of December 2007, earned him the SPL Goal of the Season award.

However, Craig Levein could be put of by the £200,000 asking price, with Cardiff City keen to claw back some of the money they paid to Manchester City for Flood in August 2006.

Since joining Cardiff, Flood has been loaned out to Rochdale and Coventry City, but the success of his latest loan period at Dundee United is expected to bring his affiliation with the Ninan Park club to an end.

There is speculation that United midfielder Morgaro Gomis is set to join Rangers in a deal worth around £800,000 - which could free up funds to make Willo Flood a more permanent member of Craig Levein`s squad.
