Celtic AND Rangers Only 4-Days Apart?

If Celtic were scheduled to play in a Cup Semi-Final match on a Wednesday night, which could potentially go into extra-time and penalties, would the SPL make them play Rangers at Ibrox in the Saturday afternoon?
Unlikely - the SPL would probably move the Rangers league game to the Sunday, to give Celtic an extra day to recover from their Semi-Final exertions.
But, Dundee United and not Celtic, it`s not a level playing field because you know that there is one rule for the Old Firm and one rule for everyone else.
After over 120minutes of high tempo football at Hampden Park on Wednesday night, Dundee United will be at a huge disadvantage against Rangers on Saturday afternoon.
Without Scott Robertson (injury) and Willo Flood (signed by Celtic on Thursday), the rest of the United squad are going to be absolutely knackered in the 2nd half at Ibrox.
Unbeaten by the Old Firm in the league so far this season, it would be an amazing result if Craig Levein`s side could hold out for another 90minutes.
Away from home, without 2 of your most important midfielders and extremely tired after the Semi-Final marathon, you wouldn`t put your money on another Tangerine dream result against Walter Smith`s side.
Would an extra day off make a difference.... perhaps not, but you`d expect the SPL at least consider it because United were playing both Old Firm sides in the space of 4-days, but no.....
