Two wins for United in Oban

Andis Shala struck the only goal of the contest as Dundee United secured a 1-0 victory over Alloa Athletic in their opening game at the Oban Tournament.

The German striker scored the winner following a second-half corner from Ryan Dow.

The Arabs then won their second match of the day as Fran Sandaza scored twice in a 2-0 success over St Johnstone.

The Spaniard opened their account following good work by Scott Allan before the break, and then added his second during the second-half after taking advantage of decent exchanges between Danny Cadamarteri and Morgano Gomis.
