Heat is on for United

Manager Peter Houston reckons his Dundee United squad will be fully prepared for their forthcoming European adventure after this week's pre-season trip to Austria.

His charges were experiencing their first training session in the blistering heat following their arrival there last night.

And Houston knows that will stand them in extremely good stead for what lies ahead after the draw for the final qualifying round of the Europa League is held on 6th August.

"This will give the boys something new, because for the last couple of years we have been over in Ireland," he told the Evening Telegraph.

"We`re in Europe this season, so training over here will help with the sort of climate we might end up playing in.

"We`ll need to make sure we`re drinking plenty of fluids and having periods of recovery," Houston added. "It`s going to be very important that we rest and recuperate between training sessions, because we will be doing a couple every day."
