Scott Robertson has no doubts over just how difficult it will be for him to force his way back into the Dundee United starting line-up.
Following eighteen months of injury turmoil which saw him require surgery on a groin problem three times, the 25-year-old former Dundee midfielder has very worked hard over the summer to regain maximum fitness.
However, with the likes of Morgaro Gomis and Prince Buaben receiving regular plaudits in his absence, it has left Robertson knowing full well that he still has a real fight on his hands to win his place back.
"It`s all about getting fully fit again and there`s no easy way to do that — it`s going to be hard," he told the Evening Telegraph. "It`s not my choice, I`ve just got to do my best in training and in games and then it`s up to the manager if he wants to pick me.
"I really want to play now, though, especially with the boys doing so well last season to finish third and win the cup."
And his manager Peter Houston has certainly been pleased with his commitment, determination and progress since being ruled.
"Scott`s not missed training. He`s looked good so far and he`ll be like a new player because we`ve not seen him for a year," he added.
