Boro wing link may not end Conway interest

Boro wing link may not end Conway interest

Middlesbrough could be about to halt their interest in Dundee United winger Craig Conway according to latest reports.

At least that will be the hope of all Arabs fans after the Championship title hopefuls were being heavily linked with a move for 24-year-old Estonian international winger Tarmo Kink.

However, Boro manager Gordon Strachan is strongly believed to be actually chasing a couple of wide players, and had initially hoped that those would have been the Taysiders two-goal Hampden hero Conway, in addition to possibly Andrew Driver over at Hearts.

But a £3.5m quote from the Jambos quickly cooled the little Scot's ardour over Driver, whilst Strachan has also recently hit a stone wall concerning United's own Scottish international flyer - and more particularly the £1.2m fee currently being asked for him.

But before Arabs fans get too excited, Boro's latest target Kink has been linked with them for a number of weeks, and even his possible arrival wouldn't necessarily close the door on another audacious Strachan raid north of the border.

On loan striker Tony Andreu struck his seventh goal of the season as Dundee United were victorious by a 2-0 scoreline at bottom club St Mirren.

Frenchman Andreu had already flicked on for Scott Fraser to begin the scoring by the time he chipped a second from the edge of the area with sixteen minutes remaining.

The Tangerines then found their numbers reduced when defender Mark Durnan was sent-off for a second bookable offence late on.
