Trialist to face Tigers

Trialist to face Tigers

Dundee United boss Peter Houston is set to again field trialist defender Irmantas Zelmikas in the friendly at Hull City this weekend.

The experienced 30-year-old Lithuanian international has already shown up well in games against Glentoran and Raith Rovers, but Houston was expecting a much bigger test this time around.

"Irmantas will play against Hull and that will give me a much clearer idea of what he's able to do," he told The Courier .

"Hull have got some real quality players and, no disrespect to the other teams we've played recently, this is a different level to what we've seen him at.

"They will be sharp and fit so it's a good chance to have him tested."
