Sandaza to miss start of season
Dundee United striker Francisco Sandaza has been ruled out of the first month of the season after damaging his hamstring at Livingston.
The 25-year-old's scan revealed that the problem was less serious than initially feared but the Arabs will still be without the Spaniard for around four weeks.
"Fran has hurt his other hamstring and that's him out for the start of the season," manager Peter Houston confirmed to The Courier. "The boy is absolutely distraught because he's put so much effort into getting to where he is.
"He overcame all his injury problems last season and spent the whole summer working hard to get his fitness levels up," he continued. "He's even changed his diet and lost quite a bit of weight so was looking in really good shape.
"It's just bad luck. He went to backheel the ball and felt it go."
