Smith finally on way to County

Smith finally on way to County

Dundee United striker Kevin Smith is set to complete a move today to Notts County.

The 23-year-old will sign a one-year deal at Meadow Lane after recently being on trial there.

He had actually been ready to join them last week but the move stalled as he was expecting to receive a two-year contract.

"It's still a one-year deal but we have enhanced it," County chairman Ray Trew told the Nottingham Evening Post.

"We've met in the middle and we are glad to have finally agreed terms with him," he added.

"We were not confident at this moment in time to give him two years. If he performs on the pitch, we will give him an extension to the contract."
