'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Forfar Athletic 1 Dundee United 4

Dundee United cruised to a comfortable 4-1 victory over neighbours Forfar Athletic at Station Park in their latest pre-season game on Tuesday evening.

The Arabs actually conceded first when trialist Danny Casey earned the home side an early advantage that was quickly cancelled out as Prince Buaben volleyed a superb equaliser.

Midway through the opening half Garry Kenneth set up Andis Shala to head past Euan McLean and give the visitors the lead before Dundee-born midfielder Paul Lunan lashed a superb 25-yard effort narrowly wide for the hosts after the break.

But it was still his hometown club that went further ahead on 68 minutes when David Goodwillie received Shala's pass and skipped past several opponents to complete a fine solo effort.

And ten minutes later Goodwillie added his second of the night following an assist by recent signing Barry Douglas.
