Dods urges colleagues to live the dream

Dundee United defender Darren Dods has told his playing colleagues to enjoy the Europa League draw on Friday and regard it as the start of an adventure.

Dods has been in the same position before although more than a decade ago whilst at St Johnstone. The Arabs will go into the draw alongside big names and potential opponents like Liverpool, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Sporting Lisbon.

"I've been through it before so know how important it is the guys really savour every moment of it," he told The Scotsman. "When I was at St Johnstone we drew Monaco, which was an unforgettable experience.

"Seeing some of the names in the hat this time, it could be just as big - if not bigger," Dods continued. "So my advice to the younger ones would be to make sure they take it all in and enjoy it as much as they can.

"Maybe we'll get round a TV and watch it. Everyone is looking forward to it and we'll go into any game with confidence after the season we had last year."
