Houston happy to be home first

Dundee United boss Peter Houston is happy to be drawn at home first in their Europa League play-off against AEK Athens.

The Arabs will host the Greek side on 19th August before completing the return fixture seven days later.

"First and foremost, we were never going to get an easy tie when we saw who was in our pot," Houston told BBC Sport. "We're delighted to be starting the tie at home. It's not going to be easy."

AEK Athens have a decent enough record against Scottish opposition in the past and are sure to present a stern test.

But Houston believes that his side have more than enough character and quality to fully do themselves justice when the time comes.

"At Tannadice we fear no-one and we'd like to be going over to Athens with something to hold on to," he added. "We're under no illusions, it's not going to be an easy game.

"It can be intimidating in Athens, but I've got a list of their squad players already, but we know we have a very tough tie."
