We can do it - Dixon
Getting past AEK Athens certainly isn't an impossible dream, declared Dundee United defender Paul Dixon upon hearing news of the Europa League qualifying draw.
The Arabs will play host on 19th August before travelling to Athens seven days later. And Dixon certainly wasn't anticipating a Greek tragedy despite the obvious calibre of the opposition.
"It is definitely not impossible. Whoever we got were always going to be a good team, so we will give it our best shot," he told The Courier. "It is European football so it is a great stage to play on and it is an experience for everyone.
"We know how hard it is going to be because AEK are a big-name team, but we deserve to be in the competition and will go into it with confidence. Of course we can get through. Why not?"
And the 23-year-old is happy that the tie will actually start at Tannadice, which he believes will work in the Tangerines' favour.
"People often think that getting an away draw is best but I think being at home first will suit us," he added. "If we can get a result at Tannadice then we can go across to Greece with something to hold on to."
