Gomis keen to show former colleague

Morgaro Gomis aims to show his former playing colleague Danny Lennon a thing or two when Dundee United come up against his St Mirren side in their opening game of the season this weekend.

Lennon was nearing the end of his career when he was joined by a young Gomis at Cowdenbeath, and the pair soon struck up a real midfield partnership at Central Park until Gomis left to sign for the Arabs.

"I played with Danny Lennon at Cowdenbeath when he was one of the more experienced ones there," Gomis told The Courier. "I learned a lot from him during that time, he was a very skilful midfield player and he taught me a lot about the Scottish game.

"I thought he had the makings of a manager as he was always talking to the boys and passing things on," the Senegalese international added. "So I am looking forward to seeing him, obviously, but I hope he is not too happy with me at the end of the game.

"I think he will do a good job at St Mirren and wish him loads of luck, but not until after Saturday."
