Kenneth will learn from experience

Dundee United defender Garry Kenneth says he will learn from facing Sweden and in particular their star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Stockholm.

Barcelona marksman Ibrahimovic scored one and made another as the depleted Scots went down to a 3-0 defeat in a game in which they were always comfortably second best.

"Ibrahimovic is one big lump of a boy and showed exactly why he's playing at Barcelona," Kenneth told The Courier. "I thought he was different class out there - even if we didn't do too much to stop him. What can you do against a player like that? But I will certainly learn from the experience."

Kenneth was only called into the squad three days earlier following defensive withdrawals and revealed he had originally planned to watch the game at his mother's house.

"I wasn't called up until Sunday and my mum had planned to have a house full to watch it," he added. "I'd much rather be there playing than back home watching.

"I was slightly nervous before kick-off but I tried to put all the nerves to the back of my mind. If I get the call for the trip to Lithuania next month I'm sure I'll be better for this experience."
