Houston prepared for tough test

Dundee United boss Peter Houston reckons his side are in for a very tough game in their opener against St Mirren in Paisley today.

The Arabs are going to come up against a developing team under the leadership of an ambitious new manager, and Houston knows his own charges will need to be at their best to return home with the right result.

"We've got a very tough game, but it will be the first of many and we are up for it," he told stv.tv. "There is a bit of the unknown about St Mirren tomorrow because they have brought in quite a number of players over the summer.

"Danny [Lennon] has brought Cowdenbeath up from the Third Division to the First in back-to-back seasons and that's something you have to respect," Houston added.

"But we've got to focus on ourselves and go about the job the way we did the majority of last season."
