Arabs open exit door for trio

Arabs open exit door for trio

Strikers Francisco Sandaza, Danny Cadamarteri and Jennison Myrie-Williams are to be allowed to leave Dundee United.

The trio are competing with the likes of Andis Shala, Damian Casalinuovo and Johnny Russell to provide alternatives to current first-choice pairing of skipper Jon Daly and the talented David Goodwillie.

Manager Peter Houston has recently been advised he must reduce his squad before bringing in a central defender to replace the departed Andy Webster and Lee Wilkie, and therefore will let them move on.

Sandaza arrived at Tannadice two years ago from Valencia CF Mestalla and is currently spending a week's trial with Swansea City, while Cadamarteri moved to Tayside in May of last year after rejecting new terms at Huddersfield Town. Former England under-18 international Myrie-Williams was recruited from Bristol City last summer.

"I spoke to the three players and told them if someone comes in for them we wouldn't be difficult to deal with," Houston told the Daily Record. "Fran is at Swansea for a few days to let them have a look at him. He's a quality player but has had fitness problems.

"We've brought players in and renewed contracts which is all money spent without bringing any in," he added. "We thought someone would have been sold by now but it hasn't happened so I have to free up cash.

"I need a centre-half and it looks as if a striker will have to make way to get the man we want in. If nothing comes of the Swansea trip, Fran will come back."
