We can still do it - Daly
There is still everything to play for according to Dundee United skipper Jon Daly in the wake of his side's 1-0 defeat to AEK Athens in the Europa League.
Daly had the Arabs' only genuine chance of the night when dragging a late shot wide in their play-off first-leg at Tannadice.
But the Irish striker was maintaining that there is still a long way to go in the tie and that his team will be a different proposition in the return.
"We knew they were a good side, who have decent experience and pass the ball well, but we matched them quite well in areas," he told the Daily Record. "We didn't play to our full potential and yet still gave them a good game. That will spur us on for the second leg and we have players who can score in the return.
"I'm disappointed we didn't take our opportunities but the tie is far from over," Daly added. "My chance was just one of those things. I'd worked hard all night playing up front on my own and didn't really have any chances until that one.
"I snatched at it and I could have taken a touch. I didn't get such a great connection and pulled it wide. At this level, you have to take those chances."
