Poorest yet says Houston after home defeat

Peter Houston was an unhappy man after his side crashed to a heavy home defeat to SPL newcomers Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Sunday afternoon.

The visitors ran out comfortable 4-0 winners on a very disappointing day that left their opponents still without a victory this season.

And nobody was escaping blame as the Arabs boss described how defender Garry Kenneth had been turned several times, while his midfield had been second to every ball and both strikers appeared like a couple of strangers.

"That was the poorest I've seen in my time here," Houston told the Scotsman. "It proves we can't rest on our laurels. Last season is over and done with. I could understand the fans booing - I'll accept it. Apart from Danny Swanson and Andy Webster, that's the team who did the business last season."

Meanwhile, Houston confirmed that Middlesbrough are back in the chase for Scottish international Craig Conway.

"They've e-mailed to say they were going to make a bid for Craig, but they haven't actually made a bid yet," he added. "If that was going through his head maybe I shouldn't have played him. His mind must be in turmoil."
