'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Dillon suffered nightmare scenario

Dundee United defender Sean Dillon simply couldn't sleep after the shock of a crushing 4-0 home defeat to Inverness Caledonian Thistle at the weekend.

However, the 27-year-old Dubliner, who has recently been deputising at centre-back, believes there is enough character within the squad at Tannadice to immediately recover and go on a decent run.

"I haven't stopped thinking about the game and I'm sure everyone was up late going over it in their heads," he told the Daily Record. "We have to make sure it doesn't happen again. It is a right good kick up the backside and that's what we need going to Athens.

"We need to look at where we went wrong - and there were plenty of things to look at - but the main thing is putting it right now," he added.

"We have two massive games in the next week and we've got to get back to the performances we know we're capable of."
