Houston pleased with character

Dundee United boss Peter Houston was pleased with the weekend draw at Hearts and more particularly the character shown by his side.

The Arabs recovered from the disappointment of Jon Daly having a penalty saved to eventually snatch a point courtesy of a tremendous late strike from substitute Morgaro Gomis.

"We showed great character and I'm proud of the players as they were magnificent," Houston told the Daily Record. "We've had a tough time recently with the games in the league and in Europe.

"If there had been another five or 10 minutes in the game we'd have won it," he added. "We went 4-3-3 and even after we scored we kept going for it with waves of attack.

"It's only two points from nine, including a huge embarrassment against Inverness although the players will never play like that again, trust me."
