Daly still on the spot

Daly still on the spot

Dundee United skipper Jon Daly says he won't be giving up penalty duties just yet.

The 27-year-old Dubliner missed a spot-kick during the weekend draw with Hearts at Tynecastle and his strike partner David Goodwillie is already pressing to take the next one.

But Daly isn't ready to give up the job despite the setback.

"I was obviously disappointed but that won't stop me from taking the next one whenever that comes," he told the Daily Record. "To be fair, I thought it was more of a good save from the Hearts keeper so I'm not feeling too bad.

"Goodie is a confident lad and has said he wants to take over the role so we might see a fight for the ball in future."
