'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Danny vows to fight on

Danny Cadamarteri has vowed to fight his way back into the starting eleven after the transfer deadline came and went with no movement for him this week.

The experienced 30-year-old striker was one of three players told he could leave the club last month. But while Francisco Sandaza and Jennison Myrie-Williams both agreed severance deals, Cadamarteri instead remained on Tayside.

"I'm delighted to have got through the transfer window and still be here," he told The Courier. "It was and wasn't a shock when the club said they'd listen to offers. The manager made me aware of the financial situation and that he'd been asked by the chairman to do a few things.

"What he said was that if something came up which was of interest to me and my family then the club wouldn't be hard to deal with," Cadamarteri continued. "If nothing came up then nothing would change. I've settled well here, my wife is starting a new job and I've signed a let on the property I'm in for another 10 months.

"But, as I said, the window is shut and I'm still here, so I just want to focus on my football now."
