Houston in defence of Rangers
Dundee United chief Peter Houston has jumped to the defence of Rangers boss Walter Smith following criticism of his defensive tactics against Manchester United.
However, while full of admiration for the manner in which the Ibrox side protected their lines in midweek, Houston won't be employing similar tactics when the two sides meet on Saturday.
"I watched their game against Manchester United and was very impressed," Houston told the Dundee Courier. "They went to do a job, defended brilliantly and got it done. I say great credit to them because they kept United at bay so much that their goalie Allan McGregor didn't really have a save to make.
"But as much as I admire what they did we won't be going to Ibrox to do the same," he continued. "As a coach I wouldn't go there and defend on the 18-yard line because you invite trouble and, besides, I think we have a team who can to Ibrox and win.
"Of course, we will have to defend well and deny Rangers space as much as we can but we will also be going to score goals."
