Arabs hopeful over Kenneth

Dundee United are hopeful over the fitness of central defender Garry Kenneth. The Scottish international required a dozen stitches to a head wound after being carried off during their weekend victory against St Johnstone.

However, the Arabs are still remaining positive over his chances of being fit for their weekend visit to Kilmarnock.

"I have not given Garry a phone since Saturday but we will find out for sure on Tuesday how he is," manager Peter Houston told The Courier. "It was obviously quite a gash he took in the head to need that amount of stitches and he was understandably pretty sore after the game.

"The big man showed that he will not hesitate to put his head in where it hurts which is just what you need in a derby game when there's so much pride and passion," he added.

Meanwhile, Houston was also expecting winger Craig Conway to recover in time for the trip to Rugby Park.
