Houston praises foes

Dundee United chief Peter Houston has paid tribute to weekend opponents Motherwell ahead of the two clubs meeting at Fir Park.

Houston takes his side there tomorrow before returning in the Co-operative Insurance Cup quarter-final on Tuesday to face what he described as one of the in-form teams.

"Craig [Brown] and Archie [Knox] have done a great job," Houston told the Daily Record. "Their signings have done really well for them and, for me, Motherwell are one of the form teams in the league, so we know it's going to be a test.

"This is the first time as a manager I've faced any team back to back," he added. "The way I approach it is to get the SPL game out of the way first and then think about the Cup."

Meanwhile, midfielder Danny Swanson continues his comeback in training, with Houston confirming: "There is no way he'll be able to start but maybe 20 or 30 minutes wouldn't be beyond him."
