No limits for Arabs striker

Dundee United manager Peter Houston reckons that striker David Goodwillie can go just as high as he wants to in the game.

The 21-year-old earned his first senior call-up this week for Scotland ahead of their forthcoming friendly against the Faroe Islands after netting eight goals in his last eleven games for the Arabs.

"David can be as good as anything in the SPL as far as goalscoring's concerned," Houston told BBC Scotland. "If he progresses, keeps his nose clean and works hard at his game, I think he can go even higher than the SPL."

Houston also acts as assistant to Scotland boss Craig Levein and regarding the inclusion of his own striker in the squad added: "David's a goalscorer and Scotland and Dundee United need goalscorers in their teams.

"If David Goodwillie goes on and plays and scores goals for Scotland against the Faroe Islands then he's back to doing what he does best.

"He has improved over the last three or four years and I believe he can play at a level higher than the SPL."
