Russell relishing Old Firm chances

Dundee United striker Johnny Russell is relishing the prospect of completing an Old Firm double this weekend.

The 20-year-old marksman featured as a substitute in the 1-1 draw against Celtic at Parkhead last week, and was hoping to be again involved against their fierce rivals Rangers on Sunday.

"It was brilliant playing at Parkhead and then to have Rangers up next is great," Russell told The Courier. "It will be the first time I have been on TV playing but I won't be thinking too much about that.

"There will be more people watching what you do but it certainly won't faze me," he added. "This is what you want to be doing, playing big games like these against both sides of the Old Firm.

"Rangers will be going from facing Manchester United's superstars in the Champions League to playing the likes of me. I guess it will be a bit different for them."
