Houston blasts midfielder

Dundee United manager Peter Houston was angry with midfielder Danny Swanson following his sending-off in the midweek draw at Hibernian.

Swanson collected two cautions within sixteen minutes of being introduced as a second-half substitute, with the second of them being for a needless handball.

And that provided the impetus for the Edinburgh club to rally and snatch a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw at Easter Road.

"Swanson cost us the victory. I put him on and said I wanted controlled aggression," Houston told BBC Scotland. "I'm disgusted with him - I've told him that - but I won't say any more on it. I'll deal with it internally.

"It was a stupid tackle, then a ball that was going miles out of the park [for the hand ball]," he added. "It was a yellow card offence, and if he doesn't know that by now, he'll never know it.

"But I'm proud of the rest of the players - the other players in the team - because they worked their socks off for this club and we tried to get three points."
