Gomis set to leave in the summer

Dundee United are expecting their Senegal international midfielder Morgaro Gomis to leave for nothing at the end of the season.

Gomis is out of contract in the summer and would be available on a free transfer. And while he hasn't yet ruled out staying at Tannadice, it is believed that he would appreciate a fresh challenge elsewhere.

"We have not really spoken to Morgaro since before Christmas about a contract," manager Peter Houston told The Press and Journal. "I think he`s maybe looking to move to pastures new. That is still to be 100% decided and he has not indicated that to me. But he`s been here for a few years now and, while he`s enjoyed his time here, it`s maybe what he wants to do.

"He will still play. I won`t cut my nose off to spite my face," he added. "I will still play players who have not signed contracts as long as they are doing the business.

"Morgaro`s form dipped a wee bit but I think he`s getting back to his best and he`s such an honest player."

But Simon Murray equalised with fourteen minutes remaining, and with extra-time appearing increasingly probable, left-back Dixon headed a dramatic second.
