Response pleases Tannadice boss

Response pleases Tannadice boss

Peter Houston was pleased with the response of his midfielders in particular following the 2-0 home win over Motherwell.

The result marked a first victory for the Tannadice club since a 1-0 triumph at Hamilton Academical back in November and ended a sequence of five straight draws.

"I'm always moaning about getting goals from the middle of the park," Houston told BBC Scotland. "Morgaro Gomis had three shots, Prince Buaben forced a great save from the goalkeeper, David Robertson had a shot and Johnny Russell hit the post.

"We were at least making an effort to score from the middle of the park."

Russell actually went on to head the home side in front before David Goodwillie wrapped it up with a late second on his return from suspension.

"I'm delighted with the players, I thought it was a thoroughly merited win," Houston added. "We passed the ball better than we had done for weeks."
