Terrors going Dutch
Dundee United have recruited Ajax defender Timothy van der Meulen until the end of the season, subject to international clearance. The 20-year-old has been at the Amsterdam club for the past four years and previously represented the Netherlands as a youth.
"I am delighted to have secured his signing. He has impressed me in training," manager Peter Houston told BBC Scotland. "I see him as one for the future but I also believe he can step into the first team in the near future if required.
"The length of the deal gives us a chance to see Timothy play in a few games before committing to a long-term deal," he added.
Meanwhile, the Taysiders were not interested by Rangers' suggestion of exchanging centre-back Andy Webster for talented winger Craig Conway.
Elsewhere, released ex-Tannadice striker Danny Cadamarteri has rejoined former club Huddersfield Town. But one-time winger Jennison Myrie-Williams' proposed move to Oxford United fell through after failing to receive international clearance.
