Late decision frustrates Terrors
Dundee United have expressed their disappointment at the late cancellation of their game at Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Wednesday evening. The fixture was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at 5.20pm and only a couple of hours before kick-off.
"The Club are fully aware that most United fans attending the game would have been en route before the pitch inspection and are disappointed that the inspection did not take place until such a late stage," said a club statement on their official website.
"Dundee United fully appreciate and understand the fact that Inverness CT contacted the SPL at 1pm to request a pitch inspection only to be notified that the inspection, which had to be carried out by a Grade 1 official, would take place when the match referee arrived around 4.30pm," continued the statement. "The match referee arrived at the ground at 4.45pm and after an extensive pitch inspection, called the game off at 5.20pm.
"It is hoped that with the above information, all supporters will be fully aware that every effort was made by Inverness CT to have an early inspection done however matters out with the control of the Clubs involved made this impossible."
