'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Conway remains totally focused

Craig Conway says he won't become distracted after Rangers had a recent offer for his services turned down.

Walter Smith had tried to take the 25-year-old to Ibrox in a swap deal involving Rangers and former Terrors loan defender Andy Webster. But his offer was rejected by United chairman Stephen Thompson.

"I took it with a pinch of salt. I've learned my lesson from the past," Conway told The Courier. "I heard about it towards the end of the window but I haven't thought much about it since.

"The way I see it, I'm happy playing my football here and if anything happens it's out of my control," he added. "It's great to be linked with these big clubs but the only thing that I can control is taking care of things on the park. That's what I'll continue to do.

"I'm out of contract in the summer and I don't know what will happen. There are a few boys in the same boat and none of us are speaking about it in the dressing room."

Conway was this week drafted back into the Scotland squad for their Carling Nations Cup opener against Northern Ireland in Dublin.
