Houston to lodge complaint

Peter Houston is to make an official complaint over a yellow card shown to substitute Jon Daly during Dundee United's 4-1 weekend defeat at Celtic.

Houston cited a similar challenge from Celtic midfielder Beram Kayal which escaped punishment, while Daly collected a booking from referee Ian Brines following his clash with Charlie Mulgrew.

"When I asked him about it after the game, the referee said, on another day, it would be a yellow," Houston told BBC Scotland. "I will be on the phone to John Fleming tonight asking, what's that about?

"What confuses me is the fact that, in the first half, Conway nicks a ball past Kayal and Kayal takes him down," he added. "To me, that is a booking. Jon Daly does the same thing in the second half and I don't understand it.

"'On another day, that would be a yellow card' - what does that mean? I don't know what it means, but I think it is two exact same fouls. But he didn't see it that way."

Houston can talk some garbage!! I do agree that the booking was harsh. But while he says it was never a booking, he also says it was exactly the same as Kayal's tackle on Conway and that WAS a booking!!! Make your mind up Peter!! He said on Sunday that he doesn't want to see players yellow or red carded. But if his player gets a yellow card so should Kayal! This all said, neither was a booking, but it is a lot of years since I saw a Dundee Utd side get such a lesson the way they did on Sunday.
