'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Houston rues wasted opportunities

Peter Houston was left regretting a couple of missed chances as Dundee United went down 1-0 to Slask Wroclaw in their Europa League qualifier first-leg in Poland.

Johnny Russell and David Goodwillie were both set free on goal but couldn't apply finishing touches and home substitute Johan Voskamp went on to score a late winner.

"I think there are chances there for us to score goals next week," Houston said to BBC Scotland. "The best two chances came in the first half and both for Dundee United, one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

"Johnny Russell had done all the hard work," he added. "The only thing he has not done is hit the ball properly.

"David Goodwillie is one-one-one with the goalkeeper and just did the wrong thing. But these boys normally score for us, so I'm not going to be too critical."
