Goodwillie back in contention

Goodwillie back in contention

Dundee United striker David Goodwillie will come back into the thoughts of national team boss Craig Levein after having a recent criminal charge against him dropped.

Levein originally managed the 22-year-old marksman during his time at Tannadice but believes he is now a much improved player both on and off the pitch.

"He's settled down a little bit," Levein told BBC Scotland. "He's realised that football is the way for him to be successful in his life.

"According to all the stories I'm getting from Tannadice he's concentrating on his football," he added. "There's absolutely no doubt that he is a fantastic player at a very young age and has still got a lot of improvement to come."
