Gavin still gunning for Tannadice

Peter Houston says that Blackburn Rovers defender Gavin Gunning is still very keen to join Dundee United.

The Irishman remains desperate to complete a permanent move to Tayside after spending time on loan at Motherwell last season. But a contractual situation at his club Blackburn is delaying the deal.

"There is a problem between Blackburn and the player," Houston told BBC Scotland. "Gavin's happy with the deal, desperate to come to Dundee United, but he's due some money and I think Blackburn want to let him go for nothing.

"He's due a considerable sum but he's willing to take quite a lot less," he added. "So it's a problem between Gavin and Blackburn which he has to resolve."
