Midfielder recovers for Terrors

Danny Swanson has shaken off his recent virus and is in contention for Dundee United at Celtic this weekend.

But the visitors will be without the experienced Scott Severin following his serious leg fracture while Gary Mackay-Steven is doubtful with an ankle problem.

"Celtic are a top team, they have great players and are now a year down the road and have matured well as a team," manager Peter Houston told BBC Scotland. "I still think there is a lot more to come from Celtic, so we know we're in for a tough match.

"We've always said we've got a decent youth policy and players like Scotty Allan, Johnny Russell and Stuart Armstrong going into such a set-up and doing well and is great credit to the youth department."

Meanwhile, Celtic were waiting on the fitness of midfielders Scott Brown and Beram Kayal after both suffered knocks during midweek international action.

Kris Commons should though be available despite withdrawing from the Scotland squad with a foot injury.

But Simon Murray equalised with fourteen minutes remaining, and with extra-time appearing increasingly probable, left-back Dixon headed a dramatic second.
