Gunning thrilled at Tannadice challenge

Latest signing Gavin Gunning is excited about the challenge that lies ahead after completing a permanent move to Dundee United last week.

The former Blackburn Rovers defender spent the second half of last season on loan at Motherwell and was again interesting the Fir Park club in addition to both Aberdeen and Scunthorpe United before finally opting for Tannadice.

"Obviously I knew about the club from playing against them last season but I spoke to Peter Houston on the phone and was really impressed by what he had to say," Gunning told the Daily Record. "This is a good club and the team have been improving steadily over the last few years so it's an exciting place to be.

"It's good I have experience of the SPL already so I know what to expect," he added.
