Tangerines sign Premiership striker

Dundee United have snapped up Fulham's Finnish under-21 striker Lauri Dalla Valle on loan.

The former Liverpool youngster will remain at Tannadice until January with an option for the club to extend the arrangement until the end of the season.

Dalla Valle, 19, was always a highly-rated and regular goalscorer at youth level at Anfield. But he switched to West London last summer as part of the deal taking Paul Konchesky to Merseyside.

"Lauri is a player I have been aware of for some time, having seen him play at Liverpool," manager Peter Houston told the Dundee Courier. "Once I knew he was available and knowing how highly he is rated by Fulham's reserve coach Billy McKinlay, I wanted him signed up quickly.

"This loan arrangement will provide the opportunity for him to further develop his potential at first team level while adding a much-needed striking option to our squad," he continued. "He clearly has a big future ahead of him and it's great that he knows he can enhance his development at Tannadice."
