Newcomers ready for home debuts

New signings Lauri Dalla Valle and Keanu Marsh-Brown could both be handed home debuts in the lunchtime kick-off against SPL leaders Rangers at Tannadice.

The pair have recently arrived on loan from Fulham as manager Peter Houston tries to get his side moving back up the table. But he will have to do so without defender Sean Dillon, who has suffered a calf injury, while skipper Jon Daly is also out.

"Rangers here is always a massive game. The early kick-off and it being in front of the TV cameras just adds to it," Houston told BBC Scotland. "Some people seem to be writing off the Rangers team at the moment, but I don't know why because they are top of the league.

"We have had a few ding-dong battles with them, some we have done very well in and some we've not done so well in, but it's one we look forward to rather than fear."

Rangers have lost forward Nikica Jelavic to an injury suffered whilst on international duty and Doran Goian and Sasa Papac are also doubtful.
