Daly returns for Caley challenge

Jon Daly makes a timely return to the Dundee United squad for their weekend meeting with Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Tannadice.

But fellow forward Johnny Russell is suspended following last week's dismissal against Rangers while defender Sean Dillon is again doubtful.

"The fact Jon is not 100% but he's desperate to play tells you everything about him," manager Peter Houston told BBC Scotland. "He's the club captain and he's always leading from the front.

"Having him back this weekend, because Johnny Russell is suspended, is a major bonus for the team," he continued. "And with such a young side we need all the experienced players we can get. I saw Inverness at the start of the season and thought they did much better than their results."

The visitors could welcome back defender David Proctor after recent hamstring trouble.

Otherwise, Chris Hogg, Owain Tudur Jones, Jonny Hayes and Aaron Doran are definitely unavailable and both Josh Meekings and Lee Cox were also expected to miss out.
