New deal for Dow

New deal for Dow

Dundee United striker Ryan Dow has signed a new two-year extension on his contract keeping him at Tannadice until May 2014.

The 20-year-old netted his first senior goal for the club at Airdrie United in the Communities League Cup last September. He originally made his debut against Rangers towards the end of the 2009-10 campaign.

"It was important to have secured Ryan," manager Peter Houston told BBC Scotland. "Although still young, he has played a part in the first team squad this season. If he keeps learning his trade in the manner he already does, he will be a fixture in the first team here at Dundee United for many seasons.

"When he has the ball at his feet, he has the ability to excite the fans and punish opposition teams and he gives us a different option to the other attacking players at the club."
