Swanson blow for United

Swanson blow for United

Scottish international midfielder Danny Swanson could be sidelined for the next couple of months through injury.

Swanson, 24, has strained a medial ligament in his knee which would also rule him out of Scotland's friendly against Cyprus next month.

He had recently been called up by former Terrors manager Craig Levein for the final Euro 2012 qualifiers against Spain and Liechtenstein.

"It's such a shame for Danny because he has been in good form but there's nothing you can do," manager Peter Houston told BBC Scotland. "He worked very hard to get fit again and was playing so well he won a call up for Scotland.

"So it's a shame for him but he's a tough character and will be doing everything he can to get back as soon as possible."
