Houston plans talks

Dundee United manager Peter Houston will hold talks over his future following this weekend's game against Dunfermline Athletic.

His side are currently struggling near the foot of the SPL table and that has since fuelled rumours of uncertainty over his immediate prospects at Tannadice.

But that disappointing record so far has to be clearly linked with the fact that Houston lost a number of key players over the summer, and then also saw the departure of top scorer David Goodwillie, while a number of injuries this term have hardly assisted his cause.

"Yes, I will be sitting down with the chairman but my only focus at the minute is on the Dunfermline match," Houston told BBC Scotland.

Houston led the Taysiders to Scottish Cup glory in May of last year only months after being appointed into the role, which he combines alongside that of assisting Scotland and former United boss Craig Levein at international level.
