Skipper praise from Houston

Skipper praise from Houston

Peter Houston praised the contribution of skipper Jon Daly after Dundee United maintained their recent improvement against Hibernian.

Daly netted twice in a 3-1 victory at Tannadice - one in which the hosts were forced to come from behind after trailing to their struggling opponents at the break.

"A lot of people criticise Jon Daly for the chances he misses but he's always in there and he's not frightened to make mistakes," Houston told BBC Scotland. "If you go in there you'll always get another chance and he scored two great goals today. That's seven out of nine points now, so that's us on a wee run.

"I thought Johnny Russell's goal was absolutely tremendous," he added. "He showed great composure for a young boy to go round the keeper and score. Once we got that first goal I was confident we could go on and win the match."
