Terrors aim to maintain rise

Dundee United take their improved form to St Mirren this evening after finally breaking into the top six following their second-half comeback against Hibernian on Christmas Eve.

Midfielder Willo Flood should be available after missing the 3-1 triumph due to illness, while on loan Fulham striker Lauri Dalla Valle has been suffering with a similar condition and remains a doubt. Otherwise, long-term casualties Danny Swanson and Scott Severin are still on the sidelines.

"The boys are buzzing," manager Peter Houston admitted to BBC Scotland. "They're looking forward to it but we don't take anything for granted because it's a team who will overtake us if we don't get something from the match. We've got ourselves up the table a wee bit and our aim is to try and at least stay there."

St Mirren earned a terrific boost with victory against Rangers in their previous game and could again rely on the same starting eleven as they report no new injury problems.
