Terrors ready to push on

Dundee United attempt to push on after recently breaking into the top six when hosting Aberdeen at Tannadice on Monday afternoon.

There could be a debut for midfielder Richie Ryan after arriving from Sligo Rovers, while on loan striker Lauri Dalla Valle may return from illness.

Former Dons midfielder Scott Severin is still out but fellow absentee Danny Swanson is finally back in training.

"If we can get through this match then, in the last quarter, the only teams to beat us would be Celtic and Rangers," manager Peter Houston told BBC Scotland. "That is a good record and one we would like to build on going into the new year.

"I watched Aberdeen against St Johnstone and heard Craig say he didn't think they deserved to win," he added. "I was at the game and I thought they did because they played well against a very good St Johnstone team."

The visitors have Peter Pawlett returning from a two-match suspension and midfielder Fraser Fyvie and striker Mohamed Chalali could also be involved after overcoming injury.
